Morehead State kicks off season Sept. 1

Morehead, KY (Sports Network) - Morehead State football will play five home games in 2011, beginning with a Thursday night kickoff to the schedule against Kentucky Christian on Sept. 1.

The opener is the Eagles' first Thursday night opener since 2006 and one of three non-conference games for coach Matt Ballard's squad. The other two games are road trips to Illinois State Sept. 10 and St. Francis (Pa.) Sept. 17.

Morehead State's home games in the Pioneer Football League are against San Diego Sept. 24, Drake Oct. 8, Dayton on Homecoming Day Oct. 22 and Butler Nov. 19. The Eagles' road PFL games are at Valparaiso Oct. 1, Jacksonville Oct. 15, Campbell Nov. 5 and Davidson Nov. 12.

Morehead State will try to build on a 5-6 overall record and a 4-4 mark in the PFL last season.
