Hampton coach Rose receives extension

Hampton, VA (Sports Network) - Hampton University football coach Donovan Rose has received a multi-year contract extension, athletics director Lonza Hardy Jr. announced Monday.

Rose has an 11-11 record through two seasons as Hampton's head coach. He's been part of the MEAC program for 20 years.

"Coach Rose has worked relentlessly to return our football program to its glory years, and I am appreciative of the level of progress I have witnessed over the last two seasons," Hardy said in a statement. "He has continued to assemble a staff of highly skilled coaches and a contingent of student- athletes who are quite capable of winning championships for us. Without a doubt, Coach Rose has put this ship back on course and the future looks bright for HU football."

"We are turning the corner with this and the fruits of our labor are just around the bend." Rose said.
