College Station, TX (Sports Network) - Reggie McNeal completed 7-of-12 pass
attempts for 129 yards and one score to lead the Texas A&M Aggies to a 42-30
victory over the Kansas State Wildcats in a Big-12 matchup.
McNeal also rushed for 84 yards and one score on six carries, while Courtney
Lewis added 62 yards and three touchdowns on 18 rushing attempts in the
victory for Texas A&M (3-1,1-0 Big-12).
Dylan Meier completed 29-of-45 tosses for 246 yards and three touchdowns in
the loss for Kansas State (2-2, 0-1). Tailback Darren Sproles was held in
check in the contest, gaining just 61 yards on 20 carries. However, he did
manage to catch six balls for 48 yards.
Meier rumbled into the end zone from one yard out to give Kansas State a 7-0
lead midway through the opening quarter.
The Aggies evened the score at 7-7 when McNeal hit Terrence Murphy with a 29-
yard scoring strike.
A 14-yard touchdown run and a one-yard touchdown run by Lewis gave the Aggies
a 21-7 advantage late in the second stanza.
Yamon Figurs was on the receiving end of a 20-yard touchdown pass from Meier,
cutting the Wildcats' deficit to 21-14 at the break.
Joe Rheem nailed a 25-yard field goal early in the third frame to bring Kansas
State within four points, at 21-17.
The Aggies took an 11-point lead when Jason Carter rumbled into the end zone
from four yards out.
Seconds into the final quarter Lewis rumbled across the goal line from two
yards out for his third score of the day, which gave Texas A&M a commanding
Midway through the quarter Meier hit Jermaine Moreira with a three-yard
touchdown pass, but a failed two-point conversion left the Wildcats down
Meier connected with Moreira for an 18-yard score to cut Kansas State's
deficit to 35-30.
With only seconds remaining in the contest, McNeal broke free for a 62-yard
touchdown run to give the Aggies an impressive 42-30 victory.
