NCAA Game Summary - Baylor at Nebraska

Lincoln, NE (Sports Network) - Joe Dailey threw for five touchdowns and a school-record 342 yards on 13-of-20 passing to lead the Nebraska Cornhuskers to a 59-27 rout of the Baylor Bears in a Big 12 matchup from Tom Osborne Field.

Brandon Jackson added two scores and 89 yards on the ground for Nebraska (4-2, 2-1 Big 12), while Isaiah Fluellen registered 72 yards receiving and two touchdowns on just two catches.

Baylor (2-4, 0-3) was led by Dane King, who completed 23-of-38 pass attempts for 281 yards with two touchdowns and one interception. Marques Roberts had seven receptions for 99 yards and a score, while Paul Mosley paced the Bears' ground game with 56 yards and a touchdown on 15 carries.

After Baylor opened the scoring in the game with a 29-yard field goal from Kenny Webb, Nebraska reeled off 31 straight points to take control of the game going into the half.

Dailey hit Steve Kriewald with an 18-yard touchdown pass in the late stages of the first quarter, and the Huskers went on to add 24 more points in the second stanza for a 31-3 lead. Sandro DeAngelis booted a 21-yard field goal, Cory Ross caught a 74-yard TD pass from Dailey, and Fluellen added touchdown receptions of 27 and 45 yards within the final 1:21 of the first half.

The Bears responded in the third quarter by scoring two quick touchdowns to cut the deficit to 31-17. Paul Mosley reached paydirt on a one-yard run, followed by an eight-yard TD toss from King to Dominique Zeigler with 8:18 to play in the frame. Nebraska answered with a two-yard touchdown run by Jackson less than two minutes later, pushing its advantage to 38-17.

Closing out a strong third quarter for Baylor, King found Roberts in the end zone with a one-yard scoring strike to narrow the margin to 38-24.

The Huskers returned to their dominating ways in the fourth quarter, however, as they scored on a one-yard run by Jackson on the first play of the final frame. The Bears notched a 39-yard field goal by Kenny Webb to bring the score to 45-27, but Nebraska closed the game out with two more touchdowns. Dailey connected with Grant Mule on a 31-yard TD pass, followed by a seven-yard scoring scamper by Ross to complete the 59-27 mismatch.

The Huskers compiled 511 yards in the victory, while Baylor, which lost its 10th straight Big 12 outing, finished with 400 yards.
