Toledo opened the night's scoring with a 26-yard TD run by Thomas on the first series in the first quarter.

Less than two minutes into the second quarter Chippewas kicker David Harman closed the gap to 14-10 with a successful 21-yard field goal.

Harman's counterpart, Jeremiah Detmer, booted a couple field goals of his own in the second quarter, the first on a 39-yard effort and the second as the clock ran out from 50 yards away to make the score 20-10 at the break.

The Rockets built on their lead in the second half as Owens tossed TD passes of 39 and 51 yards to James Green and Bernard Reedy, respectively, and in between Ryan Casano hit on a 27-yard field goal which gave the visitors a 37-10 edge with 11 minutes to play in the fourth quarter.

Radcliff and Davis hooked up again for the Chippewas midway through the fourth, the pair combining on a 14-yard TD pass play, but the Rockets left no doubt as Owens slipped into the end zone from five yards out to complete the 27-point win.

Averaging close to seven yards per snap, Toledo generated 511 yards of total offense on the night.
