NCAA Game Summary - Marshall at East Carolina

Greenville, NC (Sports Network) - Dominique Davis threw for 208 yards and two
touchdowns and ran for another score, as the East Carolina Pirates bested the
Marshall Thundering Herd, 37-10, in a Conference USA clash at Dowdy-Ficklen
Stadium.
Davis was 23-of-39 for the Pirates (5-2, 4-0 C-USA), who scored the last 27
points of the game. Lance Lewis caught six balls for 55 yards and a touchdown,
while Jonathan Williams ran for 111 yards and a score on 10 carries.
For Marshall (1-6, 0-3), Brian Anderson was 27-of-47 through the air for 217
yards with a touchdown and three interceptions. Troy Evans caught six passes
for 50 yards and a touchdown.
The Pirates took a 7-0 lead when Davis found Lewis with a five-yard scoring
pass just inside the seven-minute mark of the first quarter.
Tyler Warner's 22-yard field goal got the Thundering Herd on the board with
two-plus minutes left in the period.
Michael Barbour answered with a 39-yard field goal of his own to give the
Pirates a 10-3 lead half a minute into the second quarter.
Anderson's nine-yard pass to Evans tied the game at 10 with nine minutes left
in the first half. Those turned out to be Marshall's last points.
The Pirates regained the lead when Williams scored on a 29-yard run with just
over two minutes left. Barbour then added a 40-yard field goal with two
seconds remaining in the half.
East Carolina extended its lead to 27-10 early in the third quarter when Davis
scampered 27 yards for a score.
Barbour's third field goal of the day, this one from 26 yards, extended the
Pirates' lead to 30-10 with just over six minutes left in the period.
Davis hit Mike Price on a 10-yard connection two minutes into the fourth
quarter.
The Pirates piled up 455 yards in total offense and scored all three times
they were inside the red zone.
Marshall has now lost nine of its last 11 road games.
