NCAA Game Summary - Florida Atlantic at Middle Tennessee

Final Score: Middle Tennessee 38, Florida Atlantic 14

Murfreesboro, TN (Sports Network) - Quarterback Dwight Dasher threw for two touchdowns and 158 yards while running for 62 yards and two more scores as the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders defeated the Florida Atlantic Owls 38-14 in Sun Belt Conference action at Floyd Stadium.

Phillip Tanner rushed for 150 yards and a touchdown on 15 carries in the win for Middle Tennessee (5-6, 4-3 SBC).

Florida Atlantic (4-7, 3-4) was led by receiver Lester Jean who had eight receptions for 100 yards and two touchdowns in the loss. Quarterback Jeff Van Camp completed 20 of his 35 pass attempts for 201 yards, two scores and three interceptions.

The Owls jumped out to a 7-0 lead after Jean caught the first of his two scores on a 32-yard pass from Van Camp.

Middle Tennessee answered when Tavarres Jefferson caught a 44-yard pass from Dasher as the Raiders tied the score, 7-7, as the opening quarter expired.

Dasher then found Tyler Mason for a 29-yard touchdown strike for the only score in the second stanza as the Raiders took a 14-7 lead into the intermission.

The third quarter was more of the same as kicker Alan Gendreau split the uprights from 23 yards out as Middle Tennessee led 17-7. The Raiders took a 24-7 advantage into the final quarter after the first of Dasher's two rushing scores, this one from one-yard out.

Dasher ran the ball in from five yards out as Middle Tennessee took a commanding 31-7 lead.

Florida Atlantic finally were back on the board when Van Camp hooked up with Jean for a 23-yard touchdown, as the Owls now trailed 31-14.

Tanner found paydirt midway through the final stanza after scoring on a 44- yard run as the Blue Raiders took the 38-14 victory.
