NCAA Game Summary - F-I-U at Troy|

Troy, AL (Sports Network) - FIU totaled 448 rushing yards and four touchdowns,
as the Golden Panthers went to Troy and clobbered the Trojans, 52-35, in a Sun
Belt Conference bout at Movie Gallery Veterans Stadium.
Darriet Perry led the ground game with 186 yards and scored once, while T.Y.
Hilton added 158 yards and two TDs on just six carries. Darian Mallary
contributed 118 yards and one touchdown run for FIU (4-5, 4-1 SunBelt), while
Wesley Carroll threw for 220 yards and three touchdowns.
Corey Robinson threw for 299 yards and two touchdowns for Troy (5-4, 4-2), but
was also intercepted twice in the loss.
The Golden Panthers struck on their first drive of the game, as Carroll
connected with Mallary on a 55-yard touchdown pass.
The Trojans evened the score at seven apiece when Shawn Southward broke free
for a 33-yard touchdown scamper.
FIU followed that score with 24 unanswered points, beginning with a 44-yard
field goal by Jack Griffin, just seconds into the second stanza.
Less than two minutes later the Golden Panthers pushed their lead to 17-7 when
Hilton scored on a long 80-yard run.
Perry added a four-yard touchdown run, and just over a minute later Mallary
found the end zone on a nine-yard scamper, pushing FIU's lead to 31-7.
Southward broke up FIU's fun with a one-yard touchdown plunge, but the Golden
Panthers wasted little time responding as Carroll found Greg Ellingson with a
52-yard scoring strike.
With less than a minute remaining in the first half, Southward found the end
zone for a third time, but this score came through the air, as Robinson
connected with the tailback for an eight-yard touchdown, sending the Trojans
into the break on the wrong end of a 38-21 score.
On their first play from scrimmage in the second half, Hilton broke free once
again, rumbling down field for a 61-yard touchdown run.
That score was followed by back-to-back touchdowns from Troy. The first was a
39-yard touchdown pass from Robinson to Jamel Johnson. DuJuan Harris' nine-
yard TD scamper cut Troy's deficit to 45-35 as the third frame came to an end.
FIU, however, continued to push forward, as Carroll connected with Jonathan
Faucher for a 23-yard score, pushing the team's lead back to 17 points, and
that is where it would stay until the final whistle.
