NCAA Game Summary - Bowling Green at Troy

Final Score: Troy 30, Bowling Green 27

Troy, AL (Sports Network) - Michael Taylor connected on a 34-yard field goal with just four seconds remaining in regulation to lift the Troy Trojans to a thrilling 30-27 victory over the Bowling Green Falcons in a non-conference tussle at Movie Gallery Stadium.

Corey Robinson threw for 252 yards and a touchdown to lead the way for Troy (1-0). The Trojan signal-caller completed 25-of-37 passes during the contest, but also threw a pair of interceptions. Shawn Southward ran for 74 yards and a score on just 14 carries in the win, while Jerrel Jernigan added 58 yards on the ground as well to go with a touchdown of his own.

Matt Schilz threw for 221 yards and a touchdown to lead the way for Bowling Green (0-1), while Kamar Jorden hauled in nine passes for 111 yards in a losing effort. Willie Geter added 93 yards and a touchdown on the ground for the Falcons.

A 35-yard touchdown run by Geter gave Bowling Green an early 7-0 lead.

The Trojans responded less than two minutes later with a 38-yard scoring toss from Robinson to Jason Bruce that tied the contest at seven apiece.

The Falcons reclaimed the lead towards the end of the opening period with a three-yard toss from Schilz to Adrian Hodges.

Bowling Green added a 19-yard Bryan Wright field goal early in the second quarter, but the Trojans pulled to within seven with a 26-yard kick from Taylor midway through the frame.

With under two minutes remaining in the half, Troy tied the contest at 17-17 thanks to a one-yard touchdown plunge from Southward.

The Falcons took a 24-17 lead under a minute into the third period with a 63- yard punt return by Eugene Cooper.

Troy tied things up again less than two minutes later, however, following a 49-yard run by Jernigan.

The Trojans then took a 27-24 lead midway through the frame with a 40-yard Taylor field goal, but the Falcons responded with a 23-yard kick of their own from Wright to knot things up once again.

An uneventful final period of play was capped with Taylor's heroics following a seven-play, 49-yard final drive by the Trojans.
