The Eagles evened the score at seven apiece early in the second stanza when Rettig connected with Bobby Swigert for a three-yard touchdown.

Maryland responded with two straight touchdowns, as O'Brien first hit Ronnie Tyler with a nine-yard scoring strike, and followed that with a six-yard touchdown pass to Kerry Boykins.

The Terps increased their lead to 24-7 late in the third quarter, as Maryland capped off a 13-play, 74-yard drive with a 26-yard field goal by Travis Baltz.
