In the final minute of that opening stanza, Nevada cut its deficit to 14-10 on a 40-yard field goal by Richard Drake.

The second quarter was completely dominated by the Wolf Pack, as a one-yard touchdown run by Lippincott and a 65-yard scoring scamper by Taua gave the team a 24-14 edge by intermission.

Then, less than three minutes into the third quarter, Colin Kaepernick capped a 67-yard drive with a six-yard touchdown run that extended the Nevada lead to 31-14. Lippincott raced 27 yards for a score less than two minutes later, and the Wolf Pack led 38-14 after three periods.
