College Park, MD (Sports Network) - Dave Shinskie threw for 227 yards and a touchdown, as the Boston College Eagles nipped the Maryland Terrapins, 19-17, in an ACC showdown at Byrd Stadium.

Shinskie completed 14-of-23 pass attempts for the Eagles (8-4, 5-3 ACC), who improved to 5-2 all-time versus Maryland. Colin Larmond Jr. was his main target with three catches for 105 yards and a score, while Montel Harris rushed for 142 yards on 41 carries.

Jamarr Robinson and Chris Turner both saw time under center for Maryland (2-10, 1-7) and they combined for 216 yards and a touchdown on 20-of-32 tosses. Torrey Smith grabbed six passes for 68 yards and a score, as the Terps dropped their seventh consecutive game.

The Terps opened the scoring with a 32-yard field goal by Nick Ferrara just a few minutes into the game.

BC responded behind a 66-yard touchdown pass from Shinskie to Larmond Jr. midway through the frame. Steve Aponavicius added an 18-yard field goal late in the period, giving the Eagles a 10-3 advantage.

Maryland knotted the score in early in the second quarter, as Da'Rel Scott scurried six yards to paydirt.

Aponavicius connected on a pair of field goals late in the second quarter and BC carried a 16-10 lead to the intermission.

Following a scoreless third quarter, Aponavicius hit a 42-yard field goal with four minutes left in the game to give the Eagles a 19-10 advantage.

Maryland made things interesting with a 28-yard touchdown pass from Robinson to Smith with 1:34 left, but the Terps were unable recover the onside kick.

The Eagles outgained Maryland, 353-277, on the day and that includes a 126-61 difference on the ground.
