NCAA Game Summary - Kent State at Baylor

Waco, TX (Sports Network) - Baylor rushed for 158 yards and four touchdowns, as the Bears ran trough the Kent State Golden Flashes, 31-15, in a non-league affair at Floyd Casey Stadium.

Jarred Salubi led the way for Baylor (3-1), rushing for 64 yards and one touchdown, while quarterback Nick Florence added 60 rushing yards and two scores. Florence also threw for 216 yards on 20-of-27 passing in the win.

As for the Flashes (2-3), they were paced by Jacquise Terry, who rushed for 109 yards and one touchdown. Spencer Keith struggled in the setback, as the quarterback threw for 206 yards on 21-of-39 efficiency, and also tossed an interception.

The Golden Flashes went up 7-0 early in the first quarter when Leneric Muldrow hit Jameson Konz with a 35-yard touchdown pass.

A one-yard touchdown plunge by Jarod Monk evened the score at seven apiece with just over nine minutes remaining in the opening frame.

The Bears took the lead early in the second quarter when Florence scampered into the endzone on a six-yard run.

A 45-yard touchdown scamper by Salubi increased Baylor's lead to 21-7 midway through the second stanza.

The Bears continued their strong play early in the third quarter when Florence scored on a 29-yard run.

The Golden Flashes however, instantly responded with a 61-yard touchdown scamper by Terry with just over 10 minutes remaining in the quarter.

Kent State's defense recorded a safety early in the final frame, but a 26-yard field goal by Ben Parks late in the quarter put the Golden Flashes away for good, as the Bears walked away with a 16-point win.
