Norman, OK (Sports Network) - Landry Jones completed 24-of-39 passes for a
career-high 392 yards and five touchdowns to lead the Oklahoma Sooners to a
65-10 win over the Texas A&M Aggies in a Big 12 Conference tilt at Memorial
DeMarco Murray was Jones' favorite target, making five catches for 143 yards
and two touchdowns. Murray also rushed for 80 yards for Oklahoma (6-4, 4-2 Big
12),while Jermie Calhoun led the ground game with 94 yards on 18 totes.
Jerrod Johnson paced the Aggies (5-5, 2-4), completing 12-of-33 pass attempts
for 115 yards and one touchdown.
The Sooners defense put its team on the board first when Brian Jackson
recovered a fumble on the opening drive of the game and returned it 52 yards
for a touchdown.
Ryan Broyles gave the Sooners a 14-0 lead midway through the first quarter,
with a 25-yard touchdown run.
The Aggies answered on their ensuing drive with a 34-yard field goal from
Texas A&M made it a 14-10 game minutes later, when Johnson found Jeff Fuller
from nine yards out for the score.
Oklahoma made it a 21-10 game early in the second quarter, with a five-yard
pass from Jones to Broyles.
The Sooners were back on the board minutes later, when Chris Brown rumbled
into the endzone from six yards out.
Jones and Murray gave their team a 35-10 lead when the two hooked up for a
36-yard touchdown strike.
The Sooners were not finished though, as Jones threw an 11-yard touchdown
strike to Adron Tennell to make it a 42-10 contest at the break.
Oklahoma continued its dominance in the third quarter, as Jones and Murray
connected for a 67-yard touchdown pass. The point-after was blocked making it
a 48-10 game.
The Sooners were back on the board midway through the third quarter, when
Brown raced to the endzone from 12-yards out to make it a 55-10 contest.
Patrick O'Hara finished the third quarter scoring with a 26-yard field goal.
The Sooners scored their final touchdown of the gam early in the fourth
quarter, when Jones and Tennell hooked up from 10 yards out to seal the 65-10
Oklahoma dominated the game from start-to-finish, out gaining the Aggies
640-226 in the win.
