Final Score: TCU 48, SMU 7

Dallas, TX (Sports Network) - Marcus Jackson ran for 115 yards and a touchdown on only seven rushing attempts to lead the TCU Horned Frogs to a 48-7 victory over the SMU Mustangs in the Battle for the Iron Skillet.

Joseph Turner added two rushing touchdowns for TCU (4-0).

Bo Levi Mitchell completed 20-of-36 passes for 218 yards and one touchdown with two interceptions in the loss for SMU (1-3).

TCU led 14-0 after the first quarter on the strength of a four-yard touchdown run by Turner and a 24-yard interception return for a score by Jerry Hughes.

The Horned Frogs stretched their advantage to 20-0 by intermission on a pair of field goals by Ross Evans, a 19-yarder and a 23-yarder.

Turner scored his second touchdown in the third quarter on a four-yard run, and Andy Dalton added a five-yard scoring scamper for the Horned Frogs just over three minutes later. Midway through that third stanza, TCU owned a 34-0 lead.

SMU scored its only touchdown of the game with 5:25 left in the third quarter on a four-yard toss from Mitchell to Cole Loftin.

TCU added a pair of touchdowns in the final frame that brought the score to its final of 48-7. Jackson tossed a one-yard touchdown pass to Evan Frosch, and the quarterback later kept the ball himself and raced 79 yards for a score.

While TCU posted 23 first downs and 498 total yards, SMU had a mere 10 first downs and 210 total yards.
