Syracuse, NY (Sports Network) - Curtis Brinkley ran for 166 yards and a
touchdown, as the Syracuse Orange upended the Louisville Cardinals, 28-21, in
a Big East showdown at the Carrier Dome.
It was Brinkley's fifth straight 100-yard effort, establishing a new single-
season school record. Antwon Bailey added 39 rushing yards and a touchdown on
three carries, as Syracuse (2-6, 1-3 BE) won for just the third time in its
last 25 Big East outings. Cam Dantley also had a solid outing, throwing for
178 yards and a pair of touchdowns on 11-of-22 tosses.
Victor Anderson led the way for Louisville (5-3, 1-2) with 113 yards and a
touchdown on 23 carries. Hunter Cantwell completed 23-of-36 pass attempts for
214 yards and two touchdowns, as the Cardinals had their three-game win streak

The Orange added to its advantage with a 39-yard touchdown run by Bailey early
in the third quarter.
Louisville countered late in the frame behind a five-yard touchdown pass from
Cantwell to Joe Tronzo.
With just over five minutes left to play, Syracuse pushed its lead to 28-14
behind an eight-yard scoring strike from Dantley to Tony Fiammetta.
Troy Pascley hauled in a 36-yard touchdown pass from Cantwell just over a
minute later, but the Cardinals would get no closer in the 28-21 loss.
Syracuse, which snapped a thee-game slide, gained 385 total yards, including
207 on the ground.
