Colorado Springs, CO (Sports Network) - The Air Force Falcons ran for a season-
high 569 yards and eight touchdowns as they rolled past the San Diego State
Aztecs, 55-23, in a Mountain West Conference bout in Colorado Springs.
Jim Ollis led the way for Air Force (9-3, 6-2 MWC) with 163 yards and two
scores on 15 carries. Chad Hall added 151 yards and two scores on 19 totes,
while Ty Paffett finished with 105 yards and three touchdowns on just seven
attempts. Quarterback Shaun Carney threw for 101 yards and he also rushed for
77 yards and a score on seven carries. With the win, the Falcons finished
undefeated at home (6-0) for the first time in a season since 1998.
Kevin O'Connell headed the charge for SDSU (4-6, 3-3), as he threw for 384
yards and a touchdown on 27-of-43 pass attempts. He also ran for a score. His
main target was Chaz Schilens, who hauled in eight balls for 215 yards.
SDSU actually got on the board first in this one, as O'Connell ran one yard for

A four-yard touchdown run by Paffett gave the Falcons a 14-7 lead at the end of
Hall scored on a three-yard run early in the second quarter and Air Force led
Just over a minute later, the Aztecs' Garrett Palmer nailed a 40-yard field
Midway through the second quarter, Paffett broke loose and scored on a 73-yard
run for the Falcons.
SDSU made it a 28-17 game just before the half, as Atiyyah Henderson rumbled
six yards for a touchdown.
Less than three minutes into the third quarter, Ollis broke off a 31-yard
touchdown run to extend the Falcons' lead to 35-17.
Paffett followed that with a four-yard touchdown run midway through the third
The Aztecs countered with a nine-yard touchdown pass from O'Connell to Brett
Swain. The two-point attempt failed and SDSU trailed 42-23.
Late in the third quarter, Carney ripped off a 40-yard touchdown run to push
Air Force to a 49-23 advantage.
Hall posted a 32-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter and that closed out
the scoring in the Falcons' 55-23 triumph.
The Falcons' nine wins are their most since 2000, when they also finished 9-3.
The team's six league victories are its most in school history in the MWC.
