NCAA Game Summary - Southern Mississippi at Marshall

Huntington, WV (Sports Network) - Damion Fletcher had three touchdowns as
Southern Mississippi defeated Marshall, 33-24, at Edwards Stadium.
Fletcher finished the game with 30 carries for 152 yards, Stephen Reaves went
23-for-30 with 310 yards and a score and Torris Magee had seven catches for
156 yards and a touchdown for the Golden Eagles (4-3, 3-1 C-USA), who have won
their last two games.
Bernard Morris went 20-for-38 with 309 yards with two touchdowns and three
interceptions while Darius Passmore had five catches for 105 yards and a score
for the Thundering Herd (0-7, 0-3).
The Golden Eagles grabbed the lead when Fletcher took a handoff 36 yards into
the end zone. The extra point was blocked and the team had a 6-0 lead.
Fletcher's second touchdown of the first quarter came from two yards out with
1:19 left and the team held a 13-0 lead.
Southern Mississippi made it a 20-0 game just 1:39 into the second quarter as
Reaves connected with Magee on an 85-yard touchdown
Marshall got on the scoreboard with an 11-play, 56-yard drive as Anthony
Binswanger hit a 39-yard field goal to make it a 20-3 game with 8:46 left in
the first half.
The Thundering Herd made it a 10-point game as Morris found Cody Slate on a
27-yard score with 5:40 left in the second.
The Golden Eagles started the second half with the ball and completed a nine-
play, 66-yard drive with a 22-yard field goal from Justin Estes for a 23-10
lead a little over three minutes into the third.
Estes' 31-yard field goal later in the third quarter extended the lead to
26-10 with 6:09 left in the third.
Marshall scored a pair of touchdowns to make it a 26-24 game as Darius
Marshall's eight-yard run with 37 seconds left in the third and Morris' 47-
yard touchdown pass to Passmore with 9:59 left in the contest made it a two-
point game.
Fletcher, though, sealed the win with a two-yard score with just 1:21 to play.
