Monroe, LA (Sports Network) - Bradley Robinson's 89-yard kickoff return for a
touchdown with 45 seconds left lifted the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders to a
43-40 win over the UL-Monroe Warhawks in wild Sun Belt Conference affair at
Joe Craddock, who was starting in place of injured starter Dwight Dasher, put
the Raiders (5-5, 4-1 SBC) in position to win the game, as he threw for a
career-high 401 yards and four touchdowns on 22-of-29 pass attempts. He also
led the team with 70 rushing yards and another score on 11 attempts. Desmond
Gee hauled in four balls for 139 yards and two touchdowns in the win, while
Jonathan Grigsby finished with two catches for 109 yards and a score. MT has
now won four straight games.
Calvin Dawson guided the Warhawks (3-6, 3-3) in defeat with 180 rushing yards
and three touchdowns on 17 carries. He also caught three balls for 67 yards.
Kinsmon Lancaster connected on 24-of-38 pass attempts for 264 yards and two
touchdowns, although he as also intercepted twice. He added 138 rushing yards
on 16 carries, as ULM had its two-game win streak snapped.
David DeFatta nailed a 47-yard field goal less than five minutes into the game
to give MT the early lead.
Midway through the first quarter, ULM took the lead courtesy of a 17-yard
touchdown run by Dawson.
With just 28 seconds left in the opening quarter, the Raiders regained the
lead behind a Craddock 42-yard touchdown pass to Gee.
It took the Warhawks less than three minutes into the second quarter to
respond, as Dawson scampered seven yards for a score.
MT, though, had an answer and went ahead 17-14 on an 11-yard touchdown pass
from Craddock to Alvin Ingle.
Cole Wilson then hit a 20-yard field goal to knot the score at 17-17 with
just under four minutes to play before the half.
The Raiders regained the lead over a minute later, when Craddock threw a 66-
yard touchdown pass to Gee.
A safety by the Warhawks' defense and a Lancaster 14-yard touchdown pass to
LaGregory Sapp gave ULM a 26-24 lead at the break.
MT jumped out quickly in the third quarter, as Craddock threw a 94-yard
touchdown pass to Grigsby just over three minutes into the frame. The extra-
point attempt, though, was blocked and the Raiders led just 30-26.
Just over a minute late, Dawson scampered 62 yards to give the Warhawks a
With just over two minutes remaining in the game, MT regained the lead behind
one-yard touchdown plunge by Craddock.
ULM responded with just 57 seconds left, as Lancaster threw a six-yard
touchdown pass to Zeek Zacharie to give the Warhawks a 40-37 lead.
Robinson, though, returned the ensuing kickoff 89 yards, as MT pulled out the
thrilling 43-40 victory.
The Warhawks posted 624 yards of total offense in the game, but they were
set back by four turnovers. The Raiders gained 499 total yards and they
committed no turnovers.
