NCAA Game Summary - Southern Mississippi at Boise State

Boise, ID (Sports Network) - Ian Johnson amassed 111 yards on the ground and
found the end zone three times, as Boise State dropped Southern Mississippi,
38-16.
Taylor Tharp threw for 307 yards and two scores for the Broncos (3-1), who
beat Wyoming 24-14 their last time out.
Johnson added three receptions for 80 yards, highlighted by a 54-yard catch-
and-run.
Jeremy Young went 13-of-23 for 190 yards with a TD toss for the Golden Eagles
(2-2), who were coming off a win over East Carolina.
A pair of Tharp touchdown passes -- one to Jeremy Childs and the other to
Richie Brockel -- gave Boise St. a 14-0 first-quarter lead. Johnson's two TD
rushes in the second frame helped the Broncos establish a 28-10 advantage at
the break, and Southern Mississippi never threatened from there.
This was the first-ever meeting between these two clubs.
