Manhattan, KS (Sports Network) - James Johnson rushed for 115 yards and a touchdown on 22 carries to lead the Kansas State Wildcats to a 31-10 victory over the Iowa State Cyclones in a Big 12 matchup at Bill Snyder Family Stadium.

Quarterback Josh Freeman completed 14-of-20 passes for 161 yards and a touchdown in the Wildcats (5-4, 2-3 Big12) win.

As for the Cyclones (3-6, 0-5), Bret Meyer completed 23-of-41 throws for 280 yards. He was intercepted for a touchdown and sacked six times in the loss.

Jason Scales finished off a nine play, 74-yard drive with a six-yard touchdown run to give Iowa State a 7-0 lead in the first quarter.

The Cyclones pushed the lead to 10-0 when Bret Culbertson booted a 48-yard field goal late in the first quarter.

The Wildcats got on the board early in the second quarter when Jeff Snodgrass chipped in a 19-yard field goal.

After the Wildcats' defense recovered a fumble, Freeman connected with John McCardle on a two-yard touchdown pass to even the score 10-10 late in the second quarter.

Johnson gave Kansas State a 17-10 lead when he ran for a 32-yard touchdown late in the third quarter.

Leon Patton finished off a seven play, 79-yard drive with a 32-yard touchdown run to give the Wildcats a 24-10 lead with just over four minutes left in the game.

On the ensuing drive, Devin Anderson intercepted a Meyer pass and returned it 30 yards for a touchdown to give Kansas State a commanding 31-10 lead late in the contest.

The Wildcats led a balanced attack in the victory, finishing the game with 161 passing yards to go along with 156 rushing yards.
