Lubbock, TX (Sports Network) - Cody Hodges threw for 643 yards with five
touchdown passes to lead 13th-ranked Texas Tech past Kansas State, 59-20, in a
Big 12 matchup at Jones SBC Stadium.
Hodges finished 44-of-65 passing and Joel Filani caught 10 passes for 255
yards and a touch the Red Raiders (6-0, 3-0 Big 12) are off to their
best start since 1998, when they also started 6-0.
Taurean Henderson also caught 10 passes, racking up 118 yards and two
touchdowns in the air while rushing for three more scores on 15 attempts.
Henderson broke the NCAA record for career receptions by a running back with
his 23-yard catch on the third play of the game. The previous record was 262.
Allan Evridge finished 14-of-25 passing with 192 yards and one touchdown pass
for the Wildcats (4-2, 1-2 Big 12), who fell to 1-2 in their last three games.
Jordy Nelson caught three passes for 98 yards and a touchdown, while Evridge
led Kansas State in rushing with 64 yards on 12 carries.
