NCAA Game Summary - Kansas State at Oklahoma

Norman, OK (Sports Network) - Rhett Bomar completed 12-of-22 pass attempts for 139 yards and one touchdown to lead the Oklahoma Sooners to a 43-21 victory over the Kansas State Wildcats in a Big 12 Conference tilt.

Bomar also led the ground attack with 67 yards and one touchdown for Oklahoma (2-2, 1-0 Big 12). Adrian Peterson collected 51 yards and one touchdown on eight carries, but left the contest in the second quarter due to an apparent foot injury.

Peterson spent the rest of the second quarter with the trainers. The back was on the sideline for the start of the second half but did not return to the contest.

Allen Webb completed 11-of-23 pass attempts for 177 yards and two scores. Jordy Nelson had a strong performance for Kansas State (3-1, 0-1), as the wideout grabbed three passes for 107 yards and one score.

The Sooners were the first to hit the scoreboard when Peterson scampered into the end zone on a 22-yard run with 5:29 remaining in the opening frame. Less than a minute later the Sooners extended their lead to 9-0 with a safety.

A 29-yard field goal by Garrett Hartley early in the second stanza pushed the OU lead to 12-0.

With less than two minutes remaining in the second quarter Kejuan Jones rumbled into the end zone on a three-yard run to give Oklahoma a 19-0 advantage.

Early in the third frame Bomar found the end zone on an eight-yard run, giving the Sooners a commanding 26-0 lead.

The Wildcats finally got on the scoreboard when Webb hit Nelson with a 73-yard scoring strike with 10:54 left in the third quarter.

The Sooners answered back with a two-yard touchdown run by Jones with 6:18 remaining in the third frame.

Webb hit Rashaad Norwood with an 11-yard scoring strike and connected with him on the two-point conversion to cut the Wildcats deficit to 33-15.

The Sooners extended their lead to 40-15 when Bomar hit Joe Jon Finley with a four-yard touchdown pass early in the final frame.

Midway through the fourth quarter Hartley connected on a 40-yard field goal to give the Sooners a commanding 43-15 advantage.

Less than a minute later Ayo Saba rumbled into the end zone on a one-yard run to cut the KSU deficit to 43-21, with a failed two-point conversion leaving the Wildcats with a 22-point setback.
