Fortt leaving Penn State for Cal

Stamford, CT (Sports Network) - Another Penn State player has reportedly decided to take advantage of the transfer rules in the wake of the Jerry Sandusky scandal, as linebacker Khairi Fortt is on his way to California.

According to the Stamford Advocate in Connecticut, Fortt visited the Cal campus last week and made his decision Wednesday. He will be eligible to play for the Pac-12 school immediately.

As part of sanctions issued by the NCAA last month, the NCAA said Penn State players can transfer to other schools without sitting out a year.

Fortt is following fellow Connecticut high school star Silas Redd out of Penn State. Redd decided to leave for Southern California.
