Reilly headlines CFL's weekly awards
Toronto, ON (Sports Network) - Edmonton Eskimos quarterback Mike Reilly has been named the CFL's Offensive Player of the Week for Week 12 of the 2013 season after throwing three touchdown passes in a win over Winnipeg.
Reilly completed 16-of-26 passes for 196 yards in Edmonton's 25-7 victory over the Blue Bombers and added a career-best 113 rushing yards on nine attempts. The former Central Washington standout currently ranks fourth in the league with 2,667 passing yards and has thrown for 19 touchdowns.
BC Lions linebacker Adam Bighill received top defensive honors following a seven-tackle, one-interception effort in his team's 36-14 triumph over Montreal.
Calgary Stampeders punter Rob Maver was selected as the league's Special Teams Player of the Week after averaging 48.8 yards on five kicks in a win over Hamilton. He also completed a 31-yard pass to teammate Matt Walker on a fake punt attempt.
Saskatchewan slotback Chris Getzlaf was named the top Canadian player off a 135-yard, two-touchdown performance in the Roughriders' 31-29 loss to Toronto. The Regina native had five catches for the game and is currently tied for second in the CFL with seven touchdown receptions this season. Getzlaf's 708 receiving yards is fourth-best in the league.
