Pair of Bombers highlight CFL weekly winners

Toronto, ON (Sports Network) - Winnipeg Blue Bombers quarterback Joey Elliott and defensive end Alex Hall were among the CFL's top players for Week 8 of the 2012 season.

Elliott was selected as the top offensive player after completing 33-of-43 passes for 406 yards and one touchdown in a 32-25 win over Hamilton.

Hall collected one tackle, one sack and forced two momentum-swinging fumbles to earn the defensive honor.

The Tiger-Cats' Chris Williams was chosen for the special teams award. He returned five punts for 146 yards and one touchdown in the loss to Winnipeg.

British Columbia safety Cauchy Muamba was named the top Canadian after registering two interceptions in a 24-5 victory over Saskatchewan.
