GAME NOTES: The Canisius Golden Griffins are off to their best start at home since the 1995-96 season, and they'll try to gain a measure of revenge when they take on the Siena Saints in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference action on Saturday afternoon.

The Golden Griffins had lost two in a row prior to Thursday's 64-60 home win over Manhattan. One of those defeats came on Jan. 11 to the Saints, 57-54. In the most recent contest, Isaac Sosa scored a season-high 25 points in the win over the Jaspers. Harold Washington added 12 points and five assists for Canisius, which had lost four of its previous five contests. Billy Baron chipped in 10 points, while Jordan Heath finished with nine points and eight boards. It marked the 400th career win for Canisius head coach Jim Baron, who is in his first season with the Golden Griffins.

The Griffs have lived at the 3-point line this season. They're averaging better than nine treys per game, which ranks second in the MAAC and fifth in the country. The trio of Baron, Washington and Sosa are also shooting better than 40 percent from beyond the arc. Baron (16.9 ppg) leads the team in scoring, while Washington (13.7 ppg) follows in line. Sosa (12.4. ppg) is third in scoring, while Heath ranks third in the conference in field goal percentage at 52.6 percent, and Chris Manhertz leads the team with 8.8 rpg.

The Saints are coming off an 87-64 loss at Niagara. That snapped a two-game win streak. O.D. Anosike registered yet another double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds, but his night was cut short when he was ejected with less than eight minutes left. Brett Bisping and Imoh Silas tacked on 11 points each and Rakeem Brookins had 10, although the latter shot just 2-of-11 from the floor.

Anosike is averaging 13.3 points and 11.8 rebounds per tilt, the latter of which leads the MAAC. Rob Poole (12.7), Brookins (12.3) and Evan Hymes (11.0) are also averaging double figures in scoring. Poole, though, missed his third straight game with the flu and will not play today.

Siena has struggled mightily on the road in conference play. The Saints have lost 13 of their last 14 MAAC road tilts dating back to the 2010-11 season. The only win came at Canisius last season. The Saints have won 14 of the last 15 meetings between these two schools, including the dramatic ending on Jan. 11 when Rakeem Brookins beat the buzzer with a running, off-balance 3-pointer. The Saints held Canisius to just 20 second-half points, but playing at home should provide the Golden Griffins with a big lift.

Sports Network Predicted Outcome: Canisius 73, Siena 58
