GAME NOTES: The Idaho State Bengals and the Utah Runnin' Utes will meet at the Huntsman Center in Salt Lake City on Wednesday night, as part of the Utah Thanksgiving Tournament.

Central Michigan and Wright State will also take part in this round-robin style tournament, with each team playing each other once.

Idaho State's season has gotten off to a rough start with a pair of low- scoring road losses at Utah State (56-48) and Portland (51-48). The Bengals will play a home game against Montana Western on Nov. 29, but otherwise it will not have a game in Pocatello until 2013.

The Utes' campaign started off with a bang as they rolled over Willamette at home, 104-47, but they had their hands full with Sacramento State the last time out, allowing a double-digit second half lead to dissipate as they lost, 74-71.

Utah holds a 23-4 advantage in the all-time series over Idaho State, which includes a 9-1 mark at home.

Not surprisingly, Idaho State has scored just 48 points in both its losses thanks to shooting less than 41 percent from the field in both games. It also hasn't gotten much relief at the foul line, as it has gone just 6-of-13 from the stripe. Chris Hansen was one of the few bright spots for the Bengals their last time out against Portland, going 6-of-13 from the floor, including 3-of-8 from three-point range, en route to a team-high 15 points. The sophomore spent last season at Northwest College, where he averaged 19.0 ppg. A game after Melvin Morgan put up 19 points, he struggled with just nine points on 4-of-12 shooting, but he helped out elsewhere with nine boards and four assists. Nevelj Walters came off the bench to tally 10 points on 5-of-7 from the field.

Utah led by 13 points with 12:27 left to play against Sacramento State, it managed to score just 13 points down the stretch as it surrendered the lead and lost in regulation. Despite the setback, the Utes continued their hot shooting the start the year by draining 47.5 percent of their field goal attempts, although they were just 5-of-21 (.238) from three-point range. The majority of that production from beyond the arc came from Glen Dean, who made 4-of-9 attempts en route to 16 points, and he's the team-leader in scoring through two games with 13.0 ppg. Jarred DuBois tallied 13 points, Renan Lenz chipped in 10 points, and Cedric Williams recorded seven assists, seven rebounds and four steals. Thanks to its 104-point outburst in the opener, Utah has six players averaging in double figures -- Glen, DuBois (13.0 ppg), Justin Seymour (11.5), Jordan Loveridge (11.0), Dallin Bachynski (10.0) and Jason Washburn (10.0).

Idaho State has not played well offensively so far, and if it has any chance it'll need to keep this one low scoring. Utah has several players capable of putting up big point totals, and with the home crowd on its side it should be able to survive against the Bengals.
