NCAA Game Summary - Delaware at Hofstra

Hempstead, NY (Sports Network) - Devon Saddler tallied 19 points to lead the Delaware Blue Hens over the Hofstra Pride, 57-56, in Colonial Athletic Association play at the Mack Sports Complex.
Although Saddler was just 5-of-15 from the field, he knocked down a pair of 3- pointers and went 7-of-8 from the free-throw line for the Blue Hens (17-13, 12-5 CAA), who have won three in a row and six of their last seven. Jarvis Threatt scored 12 points with four steals and Kyle Anderson added 10 points while Jamelle Hagins managed 12 rebounds and five blocks.
Moussa Kone scored 18 points before fouling out in the final minute of the game for Hofstra (7-23, 4-13), which has lost five of its last six games. Stevie Mejia had 16 points and David Imes managed 10 points with seven rebounds.
Although Hofstra shot just 30.3 percent from the field and went 1-of-10 from 3-point range in the first half, the Pride were able to hold the Blue Hens to 22.6 percent shooting from the floor and carried a 28-23 lead into the break.
In the second half, Delaware improved its shooting to 41.7 percent and earned 11 points at the free-throw line, outscoring Hofstra, 34-28. Imes hit a 3- pointer with 43 seconds left to cut Hofstra's deficit to just two points with eight seconds left, Saddler pulled up for a jumper and missed only for Anderson to get the tip-in with five seconds left to give the Blue Hens a four-point cushion at 57-53. Mejia was able to knock down a 3-pointer for the Pride in the final seconds but it was too little too late.
Delaware shot just 30.9 percent from the floor for the game but was able to get 11 more attempts at the foul line than Hofstra and knocked down seven of the free shots.
