Tucson, AZ (Sports Network) - Nick Johnson posted 14 points, powering the Arizona Wildcats to a 63-47 win over the Clemson Tigers in non-conference action at the McKale Center.
Johnson was joined in double figures by Solomon Hill, who netted 13 points in the win for Arizona (7-3). Hill also added seven rebounds and six assists to complete a strong stat line.
Clemson (4-4) was led in the scoring column by Andre Young, who finished with a game-high 17 points. Devin Booker added nine points in the setback.
The Wildcats took full advantage of a poor shooting performance by Clemson, especially in the first half. The Tigers managed just 22.9 percent from the floor in the first 20 minutes, a number weighed down by an 0-of-9 showing from three-point range. Arizona managed to convert 43.5 percent over the same time and led 29-16 at the break.
The Wildcats knocked down 15-of-26 field-goal attempts after the break to keep the Tigers at arm's length.
Overall, Arizona was able to shoot a healthy 51 percent from the floor, while limiting Clemson to a mere 31.7 percent shooting.
