NCAA Game Summary - Wake Forest at Virginia Tech

Blacksburg, VA (Sports Network) - Robert Brown hit a runner in the lane with 12 seconds remaining to lift the Virginia Tech Hokies to a thrilling 66-65 victory over the Wake Forest Demon Deacons in Atlantic Coast Conference action at Cassell Coliseum.
Erick Green, the nation's leading scorer, netted 22 points and Jarell Eddie added 18 points and nine rebounds for Virginia Tech (11-6, 2-2 ACC) which snapped a four-game losing streak. Cadarian Raines collected 13 rebounds and blocked four shots as well. Brown had just four points and his game-winner was just his second field goal on 11 attempts.
Travis McKie hung up a 20-point, 10-rebound double-double for Wake Forest (9-8, 1-3) while C.J. Harris added 10 points.
Both teams struggled in the first half. Wake Forest hit on just 35 percent of its shots in the period but a 15-6 edge from beyond the arc allowed the Demon Deacons to take a 37-31 lead into the break.
The Hokies rallied in the second half by netting 56 percent o their shots from the floor while Wake Forest continued to shoot below 40 percent (11-of-28).
Marquis Rankin hit a layup with 45 seconds left to put Virginia Tech ahead, 64-62. McKie answered with a 3-pointer that pushed Wake Forest back ahead. Brown then fought his way to the basket to nail a tough floater that proved to be the game-winner when the Demon Deacons missed a pair of shots in the final seconds.
In the loss Wake Forest outscored Virginia Tech 21-12 from beyond the arc while holding a 43-38 edge in rebounds.
