Lubbock, TX (Sports Network) - Bred Reese's double-double of 19 points and 10 rebounds led the way for Texas Tech, as the fifth-seeded Red Raiders defeated the eighth-seeded Jacksonville Dolphins, 69-64, in second round play of the National Invitation Tournament.
John Roberson and Mike Singletary added 14 and 13 points, respectively, for Texas Tech (19-15), while D'walyn Roberts posted 10 points, to go along with nine rebounds.
Ben Smith netted 17 points for Jacksonville (20-13), while Lehmon Colbert Ayron Hardy tallied 13 and 12 points, respectively.
The Dolphins went into the break with a 35-28 lead after holding Texas Tech to a meager 30.0 percent shooting effort from the floor in the first half.
However, the Red Raiders fought back by knocking down 13-of-29 shots from the field, and they eventually went on to win by a five-point margin.
Texas Tech will now battled the second-seeded Ole Miss Rebels in quarterfinal action.
