Randle leaving Kentucky for NBA

Lexington, KY (SportsNetwork.com) - Kentucky's Julius Randle has decided to skip out on his final three years of eligibility and enter the NBA Draft.

"Yeah, I did think about coming back," Randle said at a Tuesday press conference to formalize the decision. "It's always been a dream of mine to play in the NBA, but there's no better time for me to achieve that than now."

Randle completed his freshman campaign by averaging 15.0 points, 10.4 rebounds and 1.4 assists for the national runner-up Wildcats.

The 6-foot-9, 250-pound power forward picked up 10 points, six boards and dished out four assists in Kentucky's 60-54 loss at the hands of UConn on April 7.

Randle becomes the 12th player in program history to leave after his first collegiate season under head coach John Calipari. James Young also declared late last week.
