Blacksburg, VA (Sports Network) - Shane Larkin scored 25 points and Kenny Kadji added 18, as No. 14 Miami-Florida rallied past Virginia Tech, 73-64, at Cassell Coliseum.

Virginia Tech gave Miami its best shot for 30-plus minutes before succumbing to the Hurricanes' balance. Trey McKinney Jones added 12 points, Julian Gamble grabbed seven rebounds and Reggie Johnson pulled down 10 for the Hurricanes (16-3, 7-0 ACC), who have won eight straight.

Scoring machine Erick Green scored 30 points and Jarell Eddie added 14 for the Hokies (11-9, 2-5), who have dropped three straight after a two-game winning streak.

Virginia Tech came to play at the outset, taking a 13-8 lead on Robert Brown's trey just over six minutes in. Brown and Green each found the bottom of the net for a 22-14 edge, and Green converted again moments later for a 28-16 margin.

Miami made a late first-half rally, cutting the deficit to 32-29 by halftime thanks to Larkin's 3-pointer with just over a minute to go.

The Hurricanes maintained their momentum from the closing moments of the first half, jumping in front 38-34 on successive layups from Durand Scott and Kadji. The Hokies rallied and took a 43-41 lead with just over 13 1/2 minutes to go on the heels on consecutive Green 3-pointers.

Miami then ventured on a pivotal 13-2 scoring stretch to take control. Kadji's slam capped the spurt, giving the Hurricanes a 54-45 lead with just over eight minutes left on the clock.

The Hokies gave it one last shot, pulling within 60-56 after Eddie made three free throws with just over two minutes remaining, but Larkin delivered the dagger with a 3-pointer on the other end.
