Pacific basketball coach to retire in 2013
Stockton, CA (Sports Network) - Bob Thomason announced on Monday that he will retire as head men's basketball coach at Pacific after the 2012-13 season.
Thomason is the Big West's all-time wins leader and will begin the upcoming season with 414 career victories, including 234 in the conference.
Pacific is the only Big West team since 1993 to advance to the second round of the NCAA Tournament in back-to-back years.
"I have had an unbelievable experience coaching at Pacific for the past 24 years," said Thomason, who called the opportunity to coach for a 25th year "a true pleasure."
The Tigers have had nine 20-win seasons under Thomason, winning 75 percent of their home games. Thomason has been a part of 470 wins overall at the school as a player (1968-71) and coach.
