Denver, CO (Sports Network) - Chris Udofia erupted for 27 points, nine rebounds and four blocks, as the Denver Pioneers notched a 75-60 win over Sun Belt Conference-leading Middle Tennessee at Magness Arena.
Udofia shot 10-of-14 from the floor, hit both of his three-point attempts and all five of his free throws, while also adding a couple of steals to his stat line. Rob Lewis added 17 points and Royce O'Neale finished with 14 off the bench to help Denver (17-7, 7-4 SBC) hand the Blue Raiders their first loss in conference play.
LaRon Dendy paced Middle Tennessee (21-4, 10-1) with 15 points and seven boards, while Marcos Knight scored 14, and J.T. Sulton finished with 10 points in the loss.
Denver shot 50 percent from the floor in the first half and Middle Tennessee shot 52.6 percent, and the teams also combined to go 21-of-23 at the foul line. The Pioneers led 34-31 at the break.
Middle Tennessee was trailing 61-55 with just under five minutes to play, but Denver blew the game wide open with a 10-1 run to go up by 15 with 1:53 remaining.
The Pioneers committed only eight turnovers in the contest, compared to 17 for Middle Tennessee. They shot an even 50 percent from the floor in each half and made 22-of-25 free throws for the game.
