Kingston, RI (Sports Network) - Darryl Partin scored 25 points, leading the Boston University Terriers to a 68-61 win over the Hofstra Pride to close out play in the Legends Classic subregional at the Ryan Center in Kingston.
Partin, who was 8-of-18 from the floor, hit four three-pointers and went 5- of-8 from the free-throw line. Boston (2-4) received 15 points from D.J. Irving and 11 points and 10 rebounds from Patrick Hazel, as the Terriers won their second straight game following a season-opening four-game losing streak.
Hofstra (3-4) got a huge performance by Mike Moore, who recorded his second double-double of the season with game-highs of 27 points and 11 rebounds. David Imes provided limited support with nine points for the Pride, who went 1-3 in this event.
Hofstra shot just 41.7 percent from the floor in the first half, but held a 33-31 lead at the break, thanks to outscoring Boston at the free-throw line 10-3 over the first 20 minutes of action.
The Pride's shooting accuracy dipped below 40 percent after intermission, while the Terriers connected on 50 percent from the floor (11-of-22) to earn the win.
Boston forced Hofstra into 16 turnovers in the game, turning those miscues into 22 points.
