NCAA Game Summary - Appalachian State at High Point

High Point, NC (Sports Network) - Andre Williamson hit a free throw with five seconds remaining to lift the Appalachian State Mountaineers over the High Point Panthers by an 82-81 final as part of the ninth annual BracketBusters series.

Donald Sims poured in 28 points for Appalachian State (13-14), which got 17 points and 10 rebounds from Petey Haulsey. Omar Carter tallied 13 points for the Mountaineers.

Shay Shine exploded for 27 points in defeat for High Point (11-16). The Panthers also got 18 points from Nick Barbour, 14 points from Earnest Bridges and 13 points from Tehran Cox.

Appalachian State owned a 45-41 lead at intermission on the strength of his 52 percent shooting from the floor in the first half, including a 6-of-7 effort from three-point range.

A 56.5 percent effort from the field over the final 20 minutes enabled Appalachian State to fight off High Point.

A 21-9 edge in points from the foul line was key for the Mountaineers.
