Springfield, MO (Sports Network) - Joe Wolfinger posted 17 points and eight rebounds to pace The Citadel Bulldogs in an 88-62 romp of the Maryland-Eastern Shore Hawks as part of the Hispanic College Fund Challenge.
Wolfinger went a perfect 5-of-5 from long range for the Bulldogs (3-2), who handed out 22 assists and committed just seven turnovers. Zach Urbanus, Cameron Wells and Mike Groselle all tallied 14 points, while Austin Dahn chipped in with 11.
Neal Pitt led UMES (1-4) with 17 points and five rebounds. James Cotton and Kevin White chipped in 10 points apiece in the losing effort.
The Citadel shot a scorching 65.2 percent from the floor, including a 9-of-13 showing from long distance, in the first half to open a 42-30 advantage at the break.
The Bulldogs held the Hawks to a dismal 24.1 percent shooting performance from the field over the final 20 minutes, as they cruised to the 26-point victory.
The Citadel finished the night 13-of-27 from beyond the arc and 57.4 percent from the floor.
