GAME NOTES: The Texas Southern Tigers and Dickinson State Blue Hawks clash in tonight's consolation round of the Reggie Minton Air Force Classic at Clune Arena.

The Blue Hawks had the unfortunate task of taking on the host of this tourney and they fell well short in a 95-77 decision versus Air Force last night. It was the third loss in a row for DSU, which has now dropped six of its first seven games.

As for the Tigers, they gave Northern Colorado all it could handle last night before falling, 66-62, in the end. With the setback, TSU now sits at just 1-3, with its lone win coming over Idaho (72-65).

The Tigers fought back from a 13-point second half deficit to pull within a point on the strength of a 15-3 run. However, Northern Colorado scored 10 of its final 14 points at the foul line, including a pair of free throws with 5.1 seconds left, sending TSU to a 66-62 loss. The Tigers played the game without their top scorer in Junior Treasure, who was sitting out the second game of a two-game NCAA suspension. Travele Jones stepped up in his absence and led TSU with 25 pints, while Deandre Hall added 16 in the losing effort.

DSU made just 39.0 percent of its attempts from the floor, compared to a much better 57.4 percent shooting performance by Air Force, as it was handled last night. The Blue Hawks tried to stay competitive by knocking down 12-of-27 three-point tries, but it had trouble down low, getting outscored 42-12 in the paint. Nate Lebsock guided the team in defeat with 26 points and he went 4-of-6 from downtown and a perfect 10-of-10 at the foul line. Ryan Ernst made 6-of-9 long-range attempts on his way to 19 points, while Josh Henry ripped down 11 caroms.

TSU should have its full lineup intact tonight, so go with the Tigers, as they appear to be a little more talented.

Sports Network Predicted Outcome: Texas State 73, Dickinson State 63
