Description: Senators goalie Craig Anderson, who led the NHL in GAA and SV% during the regular season, allowed 20 goals in just five games against the Penguins in Ottawa's second-round loss.
Insight: Anderson allowed just 40 goals in 24 games during the regular season and nine goals in five games during Ottawa's first-round win over Montreal, but he could not contain the explosive Penguins.

5/23/2013 10:21:00 AM
Description: Wednesday wasn't a great day at the office for Senators goalie Craig Anderson. Head coach Paul MacLean pulled Anderson in the third period after he allowed six goals on 38 shots.
Insight: It was actually a close game heading into the third but that's when the Penguins really began to wreak havoc with four goals over an eight minute span. Despite his struggles, we'd expect Anderson to be in net again for Friday night's Game 5 in Pittsburgh.

5/20/2013 11:48:00 AM
Description: Ottawa goalie Craig Anderson was stellar against the Penguins in Game 3, stopping 49 of 50 shots over 87-plus minutes.
Insight: Anderson gave up three goals on 21 shots in Game 2 and was replaced just 21 minutes into the game, so this effort is a massive improvement. He'll need to continue to play at this level if the Senators are to win and advance.

Description: Ottawa goalie Craig Anderson was pulled in the second period Friday night against Pittsburgh.
Insight: Anderson gave up three goals on 21 shots before being replaced by Robin Lehner. All three Penguins goals were scored by Sidney Crosby.

5/2/2013 10:09:00 PM
Description: Senators goaltender Craig Anderson put the team on his back again in its Game 1 win over the Montreal Canadiens, saving 48 of 50 shots in a 4-2 victory.
Insight: Anderson led the NHL in GAA and SV% this season but missed nearly two months with a sprained ankle. If he plays like he did in the regular season, he could take No. 7 Ottawa further than expected.

4/29/2013 5:34:00 PM
Description: Senators goaltender Craig Anderson led the NHL in goals against average and save percentage this season. He had a 1.69 GAA and a .941 SV% in 24 starts.
Insight: Anderson did most of his work in January and February before missing nearly two months with an ankle injury. He returned in April and went 4-5 with a 2.02 GAA and a .917 SV% in the month. The injury will likely prevent him from winning the Vezina Trophy.

4/16/2013 5:29:00 PM
Description: Senators goaltender Craig Anderson is starting Tuesday against the Hurricanes.
Insight: Anderson is coming off a shutout of the Devils Friday, his third of the season. He's a must-start for the rest of this season.

4/12/2013 11:04:00 PM
Description: Senators goaltender Craig Anderson shut out the Devils with 33 saves Friday night.
Insight: Anderson was the Vezina Trophy frontrunner when he went down with a sprained ankle on Feb. 21 against the Rangers. He lost his first two starts after returning to action, but he returned to form Friday night. If someone dropped him in your league, don't hesitate to pick him up for the stretch run.

4/9/2013 10:24:00 PM
Description: Senators goaltender Craig Anderson has lost his first two starts since returning from an ankle injury.
Insight: Anderson was the Vezina Trophy frontrunner when he went down with a sprained ankle on Feb. 21 against the Rangers. He has given up five goals on 41 shots over the last two games.

Description: Senators goaltender Craig Anderson (ankle) practiced Monday morning but coach Paul MacLean said he is "going to have to practice a little bit before he gets into a game." SOURCE: Ottawa Citizen
Insight: Anderson was off to a great start going 8-4-2 with a 1.49 GAA and .952 SV% prior to suffering a sprained ankle on Feb. 21. Robin Lehner has gone 3-1-4 with a .940 SV% and 2.05 GAA and appears to have taken over for Ben Bishop as the starter until Anderson returns.

3/11/2013 10:23:00 AM
Description: Senators goaltender Craig Anderson (ankle) didn't skate on Sunday and it is unknown when he will make his return.
Insight: Anderson was off to a great start going 8-4-2 with a 1.49 GAA and .952 SV% prior to suffering a sprained ankle on Feb. 21. The team has gotten good enough production out of Ben Bishop and Robin Lehner that they aren't likely to bring Anderson back until he is completely healthy.

3/5/2013 6:01:00 PM
Description: Senators goaltender Craig Anderson (ankle) won't join the team on its two-game road trip, according to Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun.
Insight: Anderson was the Vezina Trophy frontrunner with a 1.49 GAA and .952 SV% prior to suffering a sprained ankle on Feb. 21. Ottawa will play four of the next five games on the road so if Anderson isn't ready by Monday's game versus Boston he could also mis next Wednesday and Saturday.

3/2/2013 12:28:00 PM
Description: As expected, Ottawa goaltender Craig Anderson missed Saturday's game against Philadelphi with a sprained right ankle. He is doing some light workouts.
Insight: Anderson has been solid this season with a 8-4-2 record, a stunning 1.49 GAA and .952 save percentage. Ben Bishop got the start (4-2-0, 2.17 GAA, .935 SV%) and is a viable short-term fantasy option.

3/1/2013 11:36:00 AM
Description: Ottawa goaltender Craig Anderson has missed three consecutive games and is doubtful for Saturday against Philadelphi with a sprained right ankle. He did manage to get on the ice Tuesday to do a little skating.
Insight: Anderson has been solid this season with a 8-4-2 record, a stunning 1.49 GAA and .952 save percentage. Ben Bishop should get the start (4-2-0, 2.17 GAA, .935 SV%) should get the start and is a viable short-term fantasy option.

2/25/2013 10:25:00 AM
Description: Ottawa goaltender Craig Anderson missed Saturday's game against Toronto and is doubtful for Monday's game against Montreal with a sprained right ankle.
Insight: Anderson has been one of the league's best goaltenders with a 8-4-2 record, a 1.57 GAA and .950 save percentage. Ben Bishop, who has won two in a row, should get the start (3-2-0, 2.47 GAA, .921 SV%).

2/22/2013 11:04:00 AM
Description: Ottawa goaltender Craig Anderson left Thursday's game against the Rangers with a sprained left ankle and is expected to miss Saturday's game against Toronto.
Insight: Anderson was shutting out the Rangers at the time of the injury. He's been one of the league's best goaltenders with a 8-4-2 record, a 1.57 GAA and .950 save percentage. Ben Bishop should get the start (1-2-0, 2.28 GAA, .929 SV%).

2/21/2013 10:17:00 PM
Description: Ottawa goaltender Craig Anderson left Thursday's game against the Rangers with a sprained left ankle. Ottawa defenseman Marc Methot took out Rangers forward Chris Kreider and caused Kreider to rush into Anderson's lower body. Anderson was upended and couldn't put any weight on his right leg as he was helped off the ice.
Insight: The Senators have lost their best forward in Jason Spezza, defenseman in Erik Karlsson and goaltender in Anderson this season. In typical Anderson fashion, he was shutting out New York on 21 shots at the time of his injury. Ben Bishop replaced him and beat the Rangers in a shootout. Anderson is considered day-to-day.

Hot2/13/2013 10:42:00 PM
Description: Ottawa goaltender Craig Anderson allowed four goals on 30 shots Wednesday against the Penguins.
Insight: Anderson has been nothing short of brilliant this season and he just shut out Buffalo with 42 saves last night so we're willing to give him a pass. However, you have to be concerned about how the loss of top defenseman Erik Karlsson to a lacerated Achilles' tendon will impact Anderson's goaltending.

Hot2/13/2013 6:10:00 PM
Description: Ottawa goaltender Craig Anderson will start again Wednesday against Pittsburgh despite facing (and stopping) 42 shots on Tuesday night.
Insight: Anderson is having an unreal season with a 7-2-2 record, 1.36 GAA, .956 SV% and two shutouts in 11 games and the Sens are going to keep riding him as much as they can. Pittsburgh isn't the easiest matchup but fantasy owners cannot even think about taking Anderson out of the lineup.
