San Jose, CA (Sports Network) - The San Jose Sharks re-signed pending restricted free agent defenseman Jason Demers to a one-year contract on Thursday.
"Jason is a highly competitive puck moving defenseman that creates offense from the back end," said Wilson. "We're looking forward to seeing him come back healthy and continue his growth with us."
Demers totaled a goal and two assists in 22 games for San Jose last season, going scoreless in one postseason appearance.
Over 205 games in parts of five NHL seasons, the 25-year-old blueliner has compiled 11 goals and 50 assists.
