Lake Forest, IL (SportsNetwork.com) - Chicago Bears running back Matt Forte suffered a slight hyperextension of his right knee in Sunday's loss to the Rams.
Bears coach Marc Trestman also announced Monday that quarterback Jay Cutler remains week-to-week with a high ankle sprain. Cutler is not expected to play Sunday in Minnesota, but Trestman is "totally confident" that Cutler will play again at some point this season.
Forte has carried the ball 191 times for 851 yards and seven touchdowns in 11 games this year. Trestman is optimistic about his status.
Linebacker Lance Briggs, who has missed the last four games with a fractured shoulder, likely will not play Sunday.
The 6-5 Bears are tied with the Detroit Lions for first place in the NFC North.
