Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - The Philadelphia Eagles signed cornerback Roc Carmichael off the Texans' practice squad and placed cornerback Brandon Hughes on short-term injured reserve.
Hughes was re-signed by the Eagles last week when Bradley Fletcher was lost to a concussion. He suffered a hamstring injury in last Sunday's loss to the San Diego Chargers.
Carmichael was a fourth-round pick of the Texans in 2011. The 5-foot-10 cornerback spent his rookie season on injured reserve and played six games in 2012.
The 25-year-old Carmichael becomes the sixth cornerback on the roster, joining Cary Williams, Fletcher, Brandon Boykin, Jordan Poyer and Shaun Prater.
