Hot5/17/2013 10:05:00 PM
Description: D'Backs third baseman Eric Chavez collected four hits Friday in a win over Miami.
Insight: That gives Chavez eight hits in his last three games. Chavez (.337, 5 HR, 18 RBI) is on pace for 69 RBI this season, which would be his highest total since 2006.

Hot5/15/2013 10:47:00 AM
Description: Arizona third baseman Eric Chavez is hitting .417 with a homer and eight RBI over his last 12 games.
Insight: Chavez went 2-for-3 with a double, a walk and three RBI Wednesday against the Braves. He's hitting .310 this season and should be owned in all NL-only leagues.

4/5/2013 10:47:00 AM
Description: Diamondbacks third baseman Eric Chavez is doubtful for Friday's game against Milwaukee with a bruised right hand.
Insight: That's a shame because Chavez has had success against Milwaukee's Friday starter Kyle Lohse. In 14 at-bats, Chavez is batting .357 with a pair of homers and a 1.357 OPS.

12/5/2012 7:23:00 PM
Description: According to John Gambadora from 620 KTAR in Phoenix, the Diamondbacks and third baseman Eric Chavez have agreed to one-year, $3 million deal
Insight: There was speculation that Chavez could return to New York and man the fort at third base while Alex Rodriguez recovers from hip surgery but that never materialized. The soon-to-be 35-year-old smacked 16 homers for the Yankees in 2012 but finished the year on a sour note by going hitless during the postseason (0-for-16).

8/13/2012 10:02:00 PM
Description: Yankees third baseman Eric Chavez went deep Monday for the fifth time in his last 10 games.
Insight: Chavez sat out the Yankees' weekend series because he reportedly did not feel well after starting four straight games from Aug. 6-9 (though he went 9-for-16 with two homers and five RBIs in those games). Chavez' 13 homers are his most since he hit 15 with the Athletics in 2007.

8/13/2012 10:14:00 AM
Description: Yankees third baseman Eric Chavez is questionable for Monday's game against Texas after sitting out the weekend. According to Yankees manager Joe Girardi, Chavez "hasn't felt great after playing those four days in a row." (Aug 6-9).
Insight: Chavez has done a nice job as a fill in for Alex Rodriguez, batting .289 with 12 HR and 29 RBI in 77 games.

8/11/2012 1:11:00 PM
Description: Yankees third baseman Eric Chavez is not in the starting lineup for Saturday's game against Toronto.
Insight: Chavez has done a nice job as a fill in for Alex Rodriguez, batting .289 with 12 HR and 29 RBI in 77 games.

Hot8/8/2012 11:08:00 PM
Description: Yankees third baseman Eric Chavez is hitting everything right now. Chavez went 2-for-4 with two RBIs Wednesday.
Insight: Chavez is 12-for-26 with three homers and eight RBIs in his last eight games and is hitting .284 with 11 homers and 28 RBIs on the season. He's still just an AL-only option, but he is relevant in fantasy for the first time in six years.

Cold8/4/2012 9:51:00 AM
Description: Yankees third baseman Eric Chavez probably won't be in the lineup on Saturday based on his career .129 batting average (4-for-31) against Felix Hernandez.
Insight: Chavez has hit three homers since the All-Star break and 10 for the season, but there should be better third base options out there, particularly on Saturday. Sit him.

5/9/2012 7:46:00 PM
Description: Eric Chavez is expected to return from the disabled list on Thursday against the Rays. Chavez has been out since May 2nd with a concussion.
Insight: It's an interesting tidbit for Yankees fans but unless Alex Rodriguez suddenly gets hurt, Chavez's return probably won't have much bearing on the rest of the fantasy community.

5/3/2012 8:33:00 PM
Description: Eric Chavez has landed on the seven-day DL because of a concussion.
Insight: Chavez has been very productive at the plate this season (.290, 3 HRs, 5 RBIs). The trouble is that with A-Rod getting most of the starts at third base, Chavez probably won't play enough to be a reliable fantasy option. Of course, none of that matters now that Chavez is on the DL.

4/20/2012 7:20:00 PM
Description: Eric Chavez went 2-for-4 with two solo homers on Friday at Boston.
Insight: Chavez will get a few spot starts at the corners to spell Alex Rodriguez and Mark Teixeira, but he likely won't play enough to justify a roster spot in fantasy leagues.

5/6/2011 8:44:00 AM
Description: The Yankees have place Eric Chavez on the 15 day DL after breaking his foot on Thursday. SOURCE: NJ.Com
Insight: What took him so long to get injured? He was really only viable in deeper AL only leagues, so stash him on the DL or drop him outright. It could be a while before he is back.

3/28/2011 3:24:00 PM
Description: The Yankees will keep Eric Chavez on the major league roster, where he will be a back-up at the corner infield spots. SOURCE: ESPN.com
Insight: In deeper AL-only leagues, Chavez could be a solid late-round pick for your bench.

2/9/2011 4:47:00 PM
Description: Eric Chavez has an out clause in his contract where he can choose to become a free agent if he hasn't made the team by March 26th. SOURCE: SUSAN SLUSSER
Insight: Chavez is really auditioning for all 30 teams this spring. If he is healthy he will likely find a backup job somewhere. Don't expect any fantasy value.

2/5/2011 11:01:00 AM
Description: The Yankees agreed to terms with veteran infielder Eric Chavez on a Minor League contract that includes an invitation to Spring Training, WFAN Radio in New York reported on Friday.
Insight: Chavez could be a valuable bat off the bench for the Yankees, but he has had trouble staying healthy in recent years. (RapidDraft.com)

2/4/2011 8:53:00 PM
Description: The Yankees have signed Eric Chavez and Ronnie Belliard to minor league contracts. SOURCE: MLB
Insight: Both players have a chance to make the team. Chavez needs to prove he is healthy and that is a big question mark right now. Belliard should still have a spot in the majors as a utility infielder, even if it isn't in New York.

8/27/2010 10:53:00 AM
Description: Eric Chavez will meet with the A's next Thursday to determine what is next for him. SOURCE: San Francisco Chronicle
Insight: Chavez has missed most of the season as well as the past couple of seasons due to injury. Simply put, he cannot be trusted right now because he cannot stay healthy.

5/12/2010 9:04:00 AM
Description: Chavez went 2-for-4 with a home run, two RBI and two runs scored on Tuesday against the Rangers.
