Description: Diamondbacks outfielder Cody Ross is 4-for-6 with a double and a pair of home runs against Atlanta left-hander Mike Minor.
Insight: Ross missed the first two weeks of the season but is back in the outfield on a regular basis. He's not producing at the level he did in Boston last season (22 HR, 81 RBI, .807 OPS), but this matchup could help get him started.

Cold5/5/2013 9:59:00 AM
Description: Diamondbacks outfielder Cody Ross has never had a hit in 10 career at-bats against Padres starter Edinson Volquez.
Insight: Ross missed the first two weeks of the season with a strained calf and has yet to homer in 69 at-bats this season while batting .261. He isn't a strong play Sunday.

4/13/2013 8:50:00 PM
Description: Arizona right fielder Cody Ross was just added to the team's active roster.
Insight: He had been on the DL with a strained calf. Ross is expected to make his Diamondbacks debut Sunday versus the Dodgers.

Insight: It seemed like the Diamondbacks were going to wait until Tuesday to activate Ross but now that Jason Kubel is out with a quad injury, they may need him a bit sooner. Ross showed decent power in 2012, reaching 20 HR and 80 RBI in the same season for just the second time in his career.

Description: D'Backs right fielder Cody Ross could be back in the lineup a week from Monday if he doesn't suffer any setbacks. Ross injured his calf during spring training and is currently on the disabled list. SOURCE: Jack Magruder, Fox Sports Arizona
Insight: He's scheduled to begin a rehab assignment with Single-A Visalia on Thursday and he should be back in the big leagues shortly after that. Gerrardo Parra is getting the start in right Monday in Arizona's season opener against the Cardinals.

3/24/2013 4:36:00 PM
Description: Diamondbacks outfielder Cody Ross (calf) is likely to start the season on the disabled list, according to Nick Piecoro of azcentral.com.
Insight: Ross says he's still aiming for Opening Day but Piecoro said it sounds like the Diamondbacks are leaning towards the DL. With Adam Eaton sidelined for 6-8 weeks with an elbow injury and Ross headed for the DL, look for Jason Kubel and Gerardo Parra to play every day in April.

3/16/2013 9:52:00 AM
Description: Diamondbacks outfielder Cody Ross, sidelined by a left leg calf strain, should begin the next level of rehab activites, including running by early next week if he's going to be back for Opening Day.
Insight: Ross can still be ready if he doesn't have any setbacks, but we will know more next week. The outfielder hit 22 homers with an .807 OPS in 476 at-bats with the Red Sox last season and is expected to start in right field for Arizona. If he can't go then Gerardo Parra would likely get the start.

3/5/2013 5:35:00 PM
Description: Diamondbacks outfielder Cody Ross will miss 2-3 weeks with a lower left leg strain, manager Kirk Gibson said Tuesday.
Insight: Ross can still be ready for Opening Day if he doesn't have any setbacks. The outfielder hit 22 homers with an .807 OPS in 476 at-bats with the Red Sox last season and is expected to start in right field for Arizona.

12/22/2012 12:59:00 PM
Description: The New York Post's Mark Feinsand reports Arizona has signed outfielder Cody Ross to a three-year deal worth $26 million.
Insight: Arizona didn't really need another outfielder with Jason Kubel, Justin Upton and Gerardo Parra already on the roster, so now the team could look to unload either Upton or Kubel in a trade later this offseason. Ross is hitting .206 in 22 career games at Arizona's Chase Field.

12/19/2012 9:52:00 PM
Description: Ken Rosenthal from Fox Sports reports that outfielder Cody Ross met with the Rangers on Tuesday.
Insight: Ross has drawn interest from many teams this offseason including the Braves, Mariners, Mets, Orioles, Phillies and Red Sox as well as Texas. He's a righthanded power bat who could thrive in the right environment.

12/15/2012 7:15:00 PM
Description: Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports is reporting that the Phillies are aggressively pursuing free agent outfielder Cody Ross.
Insight: Now that Josh Hamilton and B.J. Upton have found new homes, the market is starting to open up for the remaining free agent outfielders including Ross, Nick Swisher and Michael Bourn. Seattle and New York have also been linked to Ross though the Yankees might pull out of the running now that Ichiro Suzuki has re-signed.

11/28/2012 4:50:00 PM
Description: ESPN's Buster Olney has heard from sources that the Red Sox have the upper hand in landing free agent outfielder Cody Ross.
Insight: Boston has also been in touch with former Yankees outfielder Nick Swisher. Ross played well for the Red Sox in 2012, swatting 22 HR in 130 games.

11/7/2012 8:29:00 PM
Description: Jon Paul Morosi from Fox Sports reports that the Orioles could be interested in signing free agent outfielder Cody Ross.
Insight: This would fill the vacancy in left field left by Nate McLouth (free agent). Ross put together one of his best seasons in 2012, hitting .267 with 22 HR and 81 RBI in 130 games for the Red Sox. Ross is supposedly looking for a deal worth $25 million over three years.

11/4/2012 3:20:00 PM
Description: Outfielder Cody Ross, who officially became a free agent on Saturday, implied that the Red Sox haven't made much of an effort to re-sign him.
Insight: Boston could have given Ross a one-year qualifying offer like they did to David Ortiz but that opportunity has now passed. One wonders if by passing on Ross, the Red Sox could be saving up to make a bid for former AL MVP Josh Hamilton.

10/4/2012 3:57:00 PM
Description: ESPN's Buster Olney said Thursday that the Red Sox are looking to re-sign Cody Ross before he becomes a free agent later this offseason.
Insight: Despite the turbulent environment he had to play in for much of the season, Ross was still able to be fairly productive for the Sox in 2012, contributing 22 HR and 81 RBI in 130 games played. He should continue to be a low-risk, high-reward fantasy option during the 2013 campaign.

Cold9/22/2012 9:23:00 AM
Description: Boston outfielder/DH Cody Ross' bat has gone cold in September. Ross is hitting just .239 this month, including 3-for-19 in his last five games.
Insight: Saturday's matchup with Randy Wolf won't help Ross snap out of his funk. Wolf has held the Red Sox outfielder to a .214 average with zero RBIs in 14 at-bats.

8/19/2012 7:22:00 PM
Description: Boston outfielder/DH Cody Ross won't start Sunday night's series finale against the Yankees.
Insight: Ross is hitting just .167 in 42 at bats versus the Bronx Bombers in 2012, so he likely wouldn't have been of much use to fantasy owners even if he had played today.

8/19/2012 6:52:00 PM
Description: According to Boston Globe writer Nick Cafardo, the Red Sox are interested in bringing outfielder Cody Ross back for another season.
Insight: Ross (.272, 18 HR, 60 RBI) has been a good fit in Boston because of Fenway Park's hitter-friendly dimensions in left field and it looks like he'll have a chance to surpass his career-high in home runs (24) later this season. The 31-year-old outfielder signed with the team this past offseason on a one-year, $3 million deal.

8/19/2012 10:14:00 AM
Description: Unlike his teammate Adrian Gonzalez, Red Sox outfielder Cody Ross has never hit well against Yankees starter Hiroki Kuroda. Ross is just 6-for-25 (.240) with a .680 OPS against the former Dodgers righty.
Insight: Ross and Gonzalez both played in the NL West against Kuroda for several years, but now all three are in the AL East. While Gonzalez has had success against the righty, Ross has not so sit him down Sunday.
