Texas at Detroit, postponed
Detroit, MI (Sports Network) - Friday's game between the Texas Rangers and Detroit Tigers has been postponed due to rain.
The second game in the four-game series at Comerica Park will be made up as part of a day/night doubleheader on Saturday. The first game will begin at 1:05 p.m. (et), while first pitch in the nightcap is set for 7:05 p.m. (et).
Texas' Matt Harrison will pitch against Rick Porcello in the opener, leading up to a Neftali Feliz-Justin Verlander duel afterwards. Detroit's Verlander, the reigning Cy Young Award winner and American League MVP, has gone 1-1 with a 2.13 earned-run average and 23 strikeouts in his first three starts.
