Description: Spurs guard Manu Ginobili (stress fracture in his right leg) has apparently not been granted permission by the Spurs to play in the FIBA World Cup of Basketball.
Insight: Ginobili wanted to play for his country in the World Cup, but only if healthy. After a long and successful playoff run, it's not surprising that the team wanted the 37-year-old to rest as much as possible in the offseason.
Manu Ginobili, SG7/22/2014 11:10:00 AM
Description: Spurs guard Manu Ginobili (stress fracture in his right leg) says he no longer feels any pain, according to an interview he gave to Argentine website Canchallena.LaNacion.com.
Insight: Ginobili would like to play for his country in the 2014 FIBA World Cup, but only if healthy and free of pain. We expect Spurs coach Gregg Popovich hopes he bypasses the games and rests for the upcoming season.
Patty Mills, G7/2/2014 7:31:00 PM
Description: The Spurs have agreed to a three-year deal with Patty Mills, according to Buck Harvey of the San Antonio Express-News.
Insight: A torn rotator cuff that will keep Mills out for seven months put a damper on his free agency tour, although he may have planned to sign with the Spurs regardless. He averaged 10.2 points, 2.1 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.7 threes in just 18.9 minutes per game for the Spurs during the regular season.
Patty Mills, G7/2/2014 4:47:00 PM

Insight: Mills, who was born in Australia, averaged 10.2 points, 2.1 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.7 threes in just 18.9 minutes per game for the Spurs during the regular season and was expected to be a hot commodity in free agency, but now he may just re-sign with San Antonio.

Insight: Leonard was awarded NBA Finals MVP for his contributions. He averaged 17.8 ppg in the series including 23.7 ppg in Games 3 through 5. Leonard is a superstar in the making and should play an even bigger role next season as the Spurs look to repeat.
Patty Mills, G6/15/2014 11:10:00 PM
Description: Patty Mills came out of nowhere to score 17 points Sunday in San Antonio's series-clinching win over Miami.
Insight: Mills sunk five three-pointers including four in a row during a 14-point third quarter. A non-factor in last year's Finals (2.0 ppg), Mills proved to be a legitimate difference maker this time around, scoring 10.2 ppg in 15.2 minutes per contest.
Boris Diaw, F6/10/2014 8:36:00 PM
Description: The Spurs are trying a different starting lineup Tuesday against the Heat. Boris Diaw, who started 24 games for San Antonio during the regular season, will move into the starting five for the first time this postseason. SOURCE: Bill Schoening, 1200 WOAI

Description: Spurs guard Manu Ginobili came off the bench with another stellar effort in Game 1 of the Finals against Miami.
Insight: Ginobili posted 16 points, five rebounds, 11 assists and three steals to be the best player off either bench in Game 1.
Tim Duncan, F/C6/6/2014 9:20:00 AM
Description: Spurs PF/C Tim Duncan was on his game in the Finals opener, shooting 9-for-10 from the field en route to a 21-point, 10-rebound, three-assist night.
Insight: The 38-year-old Duncan weathered the non-air conditioned arena as well or better than his younger opposition. He's averaging less points and rebounds than last season's playoffs, but he's been more efficient, shooting .529 from the field.
Tony Parker, G6/1/2014 7:18:00 PM
Description: Spurs point guard Tony Parker (ankle) expects to play Thursday in Game 1 of the NBA Finals against Miami. SOURCE: Yahoo Sports
Insight: He left Saturday's game in the third quarter and did not return. Parker has averaged 17.2 ppg on 48.7 percent shooting this postseason. Manu Ginobili and Patty Mills would share point guard duties if Parker can't suit up for Game 1.
Tiago Splitter, CCold5/29/2014 8:58:00 PM
Description: San Antonio center Tiago Splitter won't start Thursday's game against OKC. SOURCE: Kurt Helin, NBC Sports
Insight: Instead, Gregg Popovich will use Tim Duncan at center with Matt Bonner getting the start at power forward. Splitter had just one rebound in Game 4 and should spend most of Game 5 sitting next to Popovich on the Spurs' bench.
Manu Ginobili, SG5/29/2014 11:13:00 AM
Description: Spurs guard Manu Ginobili has been dealing with a sore left foot, but it shouldn't keep him from playing in Game 5 of the series with Oklahoma City.
Insight: Ginobili was horrible on Tuesday, going 2-for-8 for a total of five points with three fouls and ended up playing under 11 minutes. He averaged 17.3 ppg in the first three games of the series.
Tiago Splitter, C5/28/2014 8:14:00 PM
Description: Spurs center Tiago Splitter was fined $5,000 for flopping in Tuesday's loss to OKC. SOURCE: Associated Press
Insight: He's had a tough series, averaging just 5.5 ppg in 20 minutes per contest. Head coach Gregg Popovich benched his starters for most of the second half in Game 4 so it will be interesting to see how many minutes Splitter and the rest of the starting five will receive Thursday in Game 5.
Manu Ginobili, SG5/27/2014 10:52:00 AM
Description: Spurs guard Manu Ginobili is dealing with a sore left foot, but it shouldn't keep him from playing in Game 4 of the series with Oklahoma City.
Insight: Ginobili was on fire Sunday night, posting 23 points on 8-for-13 shooting, including 6-for-9 from beyond the arc. The Spurs guard is a career 15.5 ppg player in the playoffs as compared to 12.3 during 12 regular seasons. Beat writer Jeff McDonald called it a nuisance injury which shouldn't keep him off the court.

Tony Parker, G5/15/2014 7:08:00 PM
Description: San Antonio guard Tony Parker insists he'll be good to go when the Western Conference Finals open next week. SOURCE: Mike Monroe, San Antonio Express-News
Insight: Parker is dealing with a Grade 1 hamstring strain. He dealt with a Grade 2 strain in The Finals last season and was still effective (15.7 ppg, 6.4 apg) so we wouldn't worry about Parker being too hobbled for Game 1 on Monday.
Tony Parker, G5/15/2014 12:25:00 PM
Description: Spurs point guard Tony Parker is questionable for Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals.
Insight: Parker left Game 5 of the Western Conference Semifinals against Portland due to tightness in his left hamstring and did not return. it isn't considered serious, according to the team and he has four days or more to recover pending the completion of the Clippers-Thunder series.
Tony Parker, G5/14/2014 10:39:00 PM
Description: Spurs point guard Tony Parker left Game 5 of the Western Conference Semifinals against Portland on Wednesday and went to the locker room due to tightness in his left hamstring.

Kawhi Leonard, F5/9/2014 9:19:00 AM
Description: Kawhi Leonard led San Antonio with 20 points Thursday in a win against the Trail Blazers.
Insight: He also had five rebounds, two blocks and a pair of steals. Leonard was incredibly efficient, shooting 8-of-9 from the floor in 28 minutes. San Antonio has completely dominated this series so far, winning their first two games by an average margin of 20.5 ppg. The next two games are in Portland so the Blazers still have a chance.

Description: Spurs guard Tony Parker shook off a left ankle injury and scored 23 points with five assists in 38 minutes to lead San Antonio to a Game 5 win Wednesday against the Mavericks.

Tony Parker, G4/29/2014 1:54:00 PM
Description: Spurs guard Tony Parker (left ankle) is questionable for Game 5 of the Western Conference Quarterfinals Wednesday against Dallas.
Insight: Parker was walking with a limp after Game 4. When asked he responded with "We'll see tomorrow," which isn't very encouraging. He only played 13 minutes in the second half of Game 4 and this may have been the reason why.
Tiago Splitter, C4/26/2014 9:21:00 PM
Description: San Antonio center Tiago Splitter had his best game of the series Saturday in a Game 3 loss to Dallas.
Insight: He contributed 14 points, 13 boards and three assists in 29 minutes of action. Saturday was Splitter's first career postseason double-double. Splitter had five double-doubles during the 2013-14 regular season.
Tim Duncan, F/C4/20/2014 8:25:00 PM
Description: Spurs PF/C Tim Duncan said Sunday that he only has "a couple more" playoff runs in him. SOURCE: Marc Stein, ESPN
Insight: The implication is that Duncan won't retire at the end of this season as many have speculated. Duncan's 4,641 career points in the postseason put him sixth all-time behind Michael Jordan, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Kobe Bryant, Shaquille O'Neal and Karl Malone. Those six players have combined for 25 NBA titles.
Tim Duncan, F/C4/20/2014 3:39:00 PM

Description: Spurs center Tiago Splitter (rest) will not play Monday, according to Jeff McDonald of the San Antonio Express-News.

Tony Parker, G4/11/2014 6:35:00 PM
Description: Spurs guard Tony Parker (back) will play Friday despite being listed as doubtful, according to Dan McCarney of the San Antonio Express-News.
Insight: Parker's MRI showed a sprained facet joint on the left side of his back, but he'll return from a two-game absence Friday. That will push Patty Mills back to a reserve role after Mills had 26 points Thursday.
Tony Parker, G4/11/2014 1:16:00 PM
Description: Spurs guard Tony Parker is doubtful for Friday's game against Phoenix. Knowing coach Gregg Popovich's late-season propensity for sitting his stars to rest for the playoffs we wouldn't expect Parker to be in uniform.

Tim Duncan, F4/11/2014 1:14:00 PM
Description: Spurs F/C Tim Duncan (rest) will sit out Friday against the Suns.

Marco Belinelli will see more minutes with Green out.
Danny Green, G3/27/2014 5:22:00 PM
Description: Spurs guard Danny Green's MRI revealed inflammation in his right foot but nothing else. He's questionable for Friday's game at Denver, according to the San Antonio Express-News.
Insight: Green started feeling pain in his foot Saturday at Golden State and received Monday's game off to rest. He had to exit Wednesday's game against the Nuggets after hitting five threes in 17 minutes. Based on how the Spurs usually handle injuries, we don't expect Green to play Friday.
Tony Parker, G3/26/2014 7:40:00 PM

Matt Bonner, PF3/25/2014 7:54:00 PM

Description: San Antonio guard Tony Parker (Achilles) is expected to play Wednesday against the Nuggets, according to the San Antonio Express-News.
Insight: Parker was listed as having a sore Achilles when he was scratched from Monday's lineup versus Philadelphia, though we suspect it was just Gregg Popovich giving his star point guard the night off against an inferior opponent.
Tony Parker, G3/24/2014 8:48:00 PM
Description: San Antonio guard Tony Parker was a late scratch Monday against the Sixers. SOURCE: Project Spurs

Insight: He suffered a bruised nerve last Tuesday but hasn't missed a game since and made 10-of-18 on 3-pointers his last three games. However, the team wants to figure out why his wrist is still sore. "It shouldn’t still be sore," Green said. "They want the MRI to see what’s going on."
Danny Green, GHot3/14/2014 10:47:00 PM
Description: It looks like Spurs guard Danny Green's right wrist is feeling better. He has hit 9-of-15 from 3-point range the last two games.
Insight: He made 10 field goals total and zero free throws in the two games, so 27 of his 29 points came from behind the arc. He had 15 points, five boards, five threes, two assists, two blocks and a steal in just 22 minutes Friday. Believe it or not, his 22 minutes led all Spurs starters as Gregg Popovich used a blowout over the Lakers to get everyone some rest.

Description: Spurs guard Danny Green (wrist) warmed up and will attempt to play Wednesday, according to the San Antonio Express-News.

Instead of starting Tiago Splitter at center with Tim Duncan at power forward, Duncan will slide over to the five with Boris Diaw at the four spot. Splitter will come off the bench. Parker has missed six of the last nine games and only played 19.3 minutes per game the last four games he played. Parker may be back Sunday, and when he returns the Spurs will have Parker, Manu Ginobili, Kawhi Leonard and Danny Green all healthy at the same time for the first time since Jan. 7.

Description: San Antonio shooting guard Manu Ginobili is available off the bench for Friday's game against Phoenix. He had been a game-time decision.
Insight: His minutes will be limited according to Robert Baum of the Associated Press. It's tough to own any Spurs in fantasy because of Gregg Popovich's unpredictability. The 36-year-old Ginobili (12.1 ppg, 4.4 apg) is no exception in that regard.

Insight: Duncan hasn't made any public mention of this, so we'll take this rumor with a grain of salt. Certainly with the way Duncan's been playing (15.6 ppg, 10.0 rpg, 2.1 bpg), it looks like he could last another five years in this league.

Insight: Splitter signed a four-year, $36 million contract extension in July, but he's playing just 21 minutes and averaging 8.8 points, 6.8 rebounds and 0.5 blocks per game. He's not a fantasy option, but his absence should help Minnesota's offense Wednesday.

Description: Tim Duncan dropped 23 points on Atlanta Monday in a 102-100 Spurs victory.
Insight: He also corralled a season-high 21 rebounds. Even at age 37, Duncan continues to be a double-double waiting to happen.
Boris Diaw, F12/2/2013 1:41:00 PM
Description: San Antonio PF/C Boris Diaw is doubtful for Monday's game against Atlanta after suffering a dislocated left middle finger.
Insight: The injury looked a lot worse than it was - no ligament damage. Diaw is a solid role player who is having his best season since 2010-11 (10.4 ppg, 3.6 rpg, 1.6 apg), but he's still not on the fantasy radar in most leagues.

Tony Parker, G11/30/2013 6:59:00 PM
Description: Spurs point guard Tony Parker will start Saturday against the Rockets, according to Mike Monroe of the San Antonio Express-News.
Insight: Parker sat out Friday because of a mild ankle sprain. The Spurs have limited him to 30 minutes per game so far, which explains why his averages are down from last season.

Insight: Ginobili is playing 23 minutes per game on the year, which is exactly what he averaged in each of the previous two seasons. He's averaging 10.3 points, 4.0 assists, 4.1 rebounds, 0.9 steals and 1.4 threes per game, making him a solid fantasy option even at age 36.

Description: San Antonio PF/C Boris Diaw is questionable for Monday's game against New Orleans due to bruised ribs.

Tim Duncan, FCold11/22/2013 10:41:00 PM
Description: Spurs F/C Tim Duncan had just eight points on 3-of-8 shooting over 32 minutes Friday at Memphis and is averaging 11.7 points, 7.2 rebounds and 1.6 blocks while shooting 37.5 percent from the field this season.
Insight: Has the Big Fundamental finally hit a wall after going through another grueling playoff run last season? It's possible. But it's also a given that the 37-year-old Duncan will improve his shooting percentage and at least bring his production back to respectability.
Danny Green, G11/11/2013 9:56:00 PM
Description: Spurs shooting guard Danny Green has scored 42 points over his last two games. He had 18 points and five threes Monday against the 76ers.
Insight: Fantasy owners should know exactly what to expect from Green by now. He has some big scoring games when he gets hot from deep but is inconsistent because he doesn't score from elsewhere. Eleven of his 14 made field goals over the last two games came from behind the arc.

Description: Spurs F/C Tim Duncan will miss Monday's game against Philadelphia for rest purposes, according to Bob Cooney of the Philadelphia Daily News.

Tracy McGrady, SF8/26/2013 9:07:00 PM
