DRAFT ANALYSIS - Top-rated North American skater by NHL Central Scouting...Split time with Oshawa and London during the 2008-09 OHL season and recorded 58 goals and 104 points in 56 games...Scoring ability is his biggest asset, but isn't considered to be one of the best skaters in this year's draft...Had eight goals and seven assists en route to leading Team Canada to a fifth straight gold medal at the 2009 World Junior Championships...Was also named Top Forward and MVP at the WJC...Scored 72 goals for Oshawa in 2006-07, breaking Wayne Gretzky's OHL record for goals by a 16-year-old...Nephew of lacrosse great John Tavares, who is the all-time leading scorer in the National Lacrosse League.
