NHL Game Summary - St. Louis at Ottawa

    (Monday, December 16th)

Final Score: Ottawa 3, St. Louis 2 (OT)

Ottawa, ON (SportsNetwork.com) - Cody Ceci scored 3:59 into overtime to lift the Ottawa Senators over the St. Louis Blues, 3-2.

It was Ceci's first NHL goal.

"It's a special moment, it couldn't have happened at a better time," Ceci said.

Bobby Ryan and Jean-Gabriel Pageau also lit the lamp for the Senators. Robin Lehner stopped 30-of-32 shots.

Chris Stewart had a pair of goals for the Blues, who had a three-game winning streak snapped. Brian Elliott made 29 saves against his former team.

Ryan tied the game at two at the 5:44 mark of the third period. Kyle Turris controlled the puck at the left point before sending a pass to Ryan, who beat Elliott with a backhander.

Ceci, playing in his third NHL game, beat Elliott with a shot from the right point to give Ottawa the win in overtime.

Pageau gave the Senators a 1-0 lead at the 3:57 mark of the first period. Ryan gathered the puck behind the net and found Pageau in front.

Stewart scored goals 2:57 apart late in the middle stanza to give the Blues a 2-1 margin.

"I thought the way we played in the second was one of the best road periods we played all year," Blues head coach Ken Hitchcock said.

Stewart lit the lamp on a breakaway at 16:50. He scored off a pass from Derek Roy with 11.5 seconds left.

    Game Notes

Blues captain David Backes left the game during the second period with an upper-body injury and did not return ... Senators defenseman Jared Cowen returned after serving a two-game suspension ... St. Louis center Vladimir Sobotka (upper body) missed the game.
